Orihuela Costa has around 16 km of Mediterranean coastline, with everything from small sheltered coves to wide sandy beaches.
The coastline is varied, with sandy beaches, rocky sections, small bays, cliffs and coastal paths connecting many of the areas. In several places, you can combine a beach day with a walk along the promenade or coastal paths overlooking the Mediterranean.
Many of the beaches are within walking distance of our holiday homes, while the others are usually only a short drive away.
Whether you are travelling with children, looking for water activities, want to go snorkelling or simply relax by the Mediterranean, there is a beach for almost every kind of day.

La Zenia
Cala Bosque – La Zenia Beach
Probably the best-known beach in Orihuela Costa and a great all-round choice. Cala Bosque has fine golden sand, easy access and a lively atmosphere during summer.
It is particularly popular with families, with restaurants and services close to the beach.

Cala Capitán
Just around the corner from La Zenia, Cala Capitán is a smaller and more sheltered sandy beach, making it particularly good for families with younger children.
The rocky areas and clear water can also be great for snorkelling and spotting small Mediterranean fish when the sea is calm.

Cabo Roig
La Caleta
A sheltered sandy bay beside Cabo Roig Marina, surrounded by the rocky Cabo Roig coastline.
The clear water and rocky areas make this one of our favourite local spots for swimming and snorkelling.
The marina is right next to the beach and is a good starting point for jet skis, boat trips and other water activities. You can also join the beautiful coastal walking route around Cabo Roig from here.

Campoamor
La Glea
One of the largest beaches in Orihuela Costa, with a wide stretch of sand and plenty of room for a full family beach day.
La Glea is also one of the better local choices for water sports during summer, and Campoamor Marina and several excellent restaurants are close by.

Mil Palmeras
Mil Palmeras
Mil Palmeras is a long sandy beach with a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere that really comes alive during summer.
The pedestrian street just behind the beach is full of restaurants, bars, terraces and ice cream shops, making it a great place to spend the afternoon at the beach and stay for dinner and an evening stroll.

Good to know: Mil Palmeras is considerably quieter during winter, and some seasonal restaurants and businesses may be closed or have reduced opening hours.
Playa Flamenca
Cala Estaca
A smaller sandy beach in the heart of Playa Flamenca, with the coastal promenade and restaurants nearby.
A convenient choice if you are staying in Playa Flamenca and simply want to walk down for a few relaxing hours by the sea.

Punta Prima
Punta Prima Beach
Punta Prima is a smaller beach at the northern end of Orihuela Costa, surrounded by a rocky coastline and beautiful Mediterranean views.
It is particularly nice if you want to combine a few hours at the beach with a good lunch overlooking the sea.

Torre de la Horadada

One of our favourite alternatives during the busy summer months.
Las Higuericas is a long and very wide sandy beach with plenty of space, making it particularly good for families who want to spend the whole day by the sea.
Torre de la Horadada itself becomes lively during summer, with restaurants, bars and ice cream shops and plenty of people enjoying the evenings.

Guardamar del Segura
Guardamar del Segura
For a more traditional Spanish seaside experience, Guardamar is well worth the drive.
The area is known for kilometres of long sandy beaches, dunes and pine forests. There is plenty of space, and you can easily combine a beach day with lunch, tapas or an ice cream in town.

Torrevieja
Playa del Cura
For something completely different, head into Torrevieja and combine the beach with the atmosphere of a busy Spanish coastal city.
Playa del Cura is directly beside the promenade and surrounded by restaurants, cafés, ice cream shops and stores.
Unlike some of the smaller coastal resorts, Torrevieja has plenty of life throughout the year, making it a particularly good option outside the main summer season as well.

Many of our holiday homes are within walking distance of the beach, so you may not need a car for your everyday beach trips.
If you do have a car, we recommend trying a few different beaches during your stay. The coastline is compact, and within a relatively short distance you can go from a small sheltered cove to a wide sandy beach, a marina, a rocky coastal path or a lively Spanish seaside town.
Chiringuitos, sunbeds, lifeguards and water activities are generally seasonal, and availability may vary throughout the year.
